Xcitech School on Science and Technology! Registration open!

This School, organized by the University of Granada and the IFMIF-DONES España consortium, will take place from 8 to 12 June 2026 in Granada, Spain. It is designed as a space for advanced training and exchange between science, technology, and industry in the field of Big Science technologies.

In this edition, the programme is structured around two courses. On the one hand, AI for High-Impact Science and Engineering, focused on the potential of artificial intelligence applied to high-impact science and engineering. On the other hand, DONES in depth, aimed at providing an in-depth overview of IFMIF-DONES, its role as a major scientific infrastructure, its technological challenges, its current status, and its future applications in fusion and related fields.

Registration is available in one of the following three formats:

• full registration – for both courses
• registration for the course AI for High – Impact Science and Engineering
• registration for the course DONES in depth

The registration fee for a single course is €450 (VAT included). Registration for both courses’ costs €700 (VAT included).

Registration also includes participation in the social and networking programme activities: the Registration & Welcome Reception on the afternoon of Sunday, 7 June, the visit to IFMIF-DONES on the afternoon of Monday, 8 June, the walk through the Albaicín on the afternoon of Wednesday, 10 June, and the Gala Dinner on the evening of Thursday, 11 June. It also includes lunches and coffee breaks included in the programme. In the case of participants registering for only one of the courses, registration will include the lunch and coffee break corresponding to the selected course, according to the agenda. No lunch is planned for Friday, 12 June, as the closing of the meeting is scheduled for 13:00.

During the registration process, participants may also indicate their interest in requesting accommodation at Colegio Mayor Santo Domingo. The accommodation price is €308 (+10% VAT) for 7 nights (7–13 June 2026, single room and breakfast included). Rooms are limited, and booking confirmation will be made on a first-come, first-served basis according to registration and event payment, always subject to availability. Payment for accommodation will be handled in a second step, directly with the residence hall (interested participants will receive an email from the Xcitech organizing team with the necessary instructions).
